When we take a cursory look at the above picture, we immediately think of scenes from American films that deal with the theme of racially mixed suburbs of large cities. These films are full of violence, and justice is meted out very quickly. Such films are liked to be watched on weekends by residents who live far from the scene of the events.
If we look a little closer at the characters (picture on the left), we will see that these are not masked thugs from the suburbs, but members of the police. Here, the insignia and uniforms are clearly visible, but most of them are again masked. This photo is an example of propaganda being carried out by opponents of the Trump administration in New York. A grim face in the foreground, masks and everything is integrated into a frame dominated by Trump Tower in the background.
The question immediately arises as to why they are masked and from whom are they hiding?
In some places, we can also see police officers who do not need to mask and, by all accounts, they are, with the exception of one, brave “Latinos” (picture on the top right).
Propaganda artists know that manipulating people’s emotions is the best way to achieve their desired goal. Who wouldn’t feel sorry for these lovely children who were denied American citizenship simply because their parents refused to respect the laws of the host country?

White world portals operating in Croatia show ICE1 as a foreign service that brings disorder into a multi-ethnic society:
“ICE arrested more than 800 people with the help of the airport.”
“Airport arrests cause outrage.”
“A group of more than 40 Democratic lawmakers last week said in a letter to incoming Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin that the presence of ICE agents will ’cause confusion and fear’ among travelers if they remain at airports … asking for a softening of the aggressive tactics.”
“Parents of immigrant Marines in the US did not come to the promotion for fear of deportation.”
“Mexican dies in ICE custody, 14th death in custody this year.”
“US Court Denies Asylum Claim of Ecuadorian Boy Detained by ICE.”
“Father of six worked for US military in Afghanistan. Died in ICE custody.”
“ICE agents are detaining an increasing number of people without criminal records or charges.”
There is no need to provide additional examples. For uninitiated readers, these propaganda troublemakers portray the law enforcement agencies of a state as the agents of disorder, and the real agents of disorder as the victims.

Croatian police officers have also embraced the new fashion. They are masked when announcing a large drug seizure. Behind the police officers are pictures of their comrades who died in the Croatian War of Independence. During that war, Croatian soldiers and police officers did not mask themselves. This fashion is more recent and has also affected the warring armies in the Russian-Ukrainian war. It should be emphasized that foreign mercenaries in this war have a reason to mask themselves and this is not about fashion.
When we talk about the police, masking is strange to say the least and raises a number of questions:
If the police are the highest guarantor of maintaining internal order, who should they fear? Indirectly, in this way the state shows that criminals are strong enough to threaten the property and families of police officers.
In a society where there are no death sentences and long sentences for drug dealers and kleptomaniac politicians, it can happen that criminals threaten the police at lower levels. Big criminals are not stupid people, they see the balance of power in society well and know very well what is worth doing and what is not worth doing. They too have their families, property and any police force can quickly impose their authority, provided that politicians and the judiciary stand firmly behind them.
Therefore, we can conclude that the new fashion for masking well reflects the balance of power in society.
- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is the federal agency of the United States of America responsible for enforcing immigration and customs laws within the territory of the United States. It operates as part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is one of the key institutions of the American internal security system. ICE employs more than 20,000 people, including agents, investigators, lawyers and administrative staff, and has a budget of several billion dollars per year. [↩]
